Workplace


Don’t get too attached to the people
around you.  Work’s funny that way.
Friends disappear the way people have
always disappeared.  Politics is a bullet.


It’s fired at night, while no one is awake
to witness.  A knock on the door.  Dim
figures enter, with their mantra of
dimmer rationales, like business critical.


Better the virus than the body, better
the powerless than the powerful —
better that a mistake survives, than
Everyman survives a mistake.
