Wednesday Poem

For words, reality is not enough.
Nor is situation rationalized by clauses
ribboned and stretched like DNA strings
in a mad scientist’s lab. Between eyes
and memory, the maze stretches
our constructions, fills them with shadows
of events forever past or future, that wave
crest captured on paper, slipped into
poems and books, debated by witnesses
and the uninvolved alike – until the history
is greater than the event. And more solid.

What a cool way to look at history-- the flimsy fluid set solid by the gelatine of discussion --

events forever past or future, that wave
crest captured on paper, slipped into
poems and books, debated by witnesses
and the uninvolved alike

NaPo is not necessary for oyu, but oyu are doing NaPo proud :-)

Wish I could spell you. Oh I did.
