Sunday Poem

Memories acquire wrinkles,
appear in front of me – a moving
waltz of images – with the will
and sense of destination
carousel horses must have
in October, heavy rain falling,
the beach deserted, trying to
make sense of, a summer fall
of children, parents, lovers
at midnight, seasons
and repeating change.
