chickadee or what we call blue tit? Those stay all winter here, but are singing now (not chickadees, we dont ahve those)
I think they also stay here all winter. The sign of spring was really that I was again out walking on one of my favourite trails. I wondered why these birds kept alighting on the top of tree stumps, until it sank in that someone was leaving seeds on the trunks. This picture was taken on the mill race trail in St Jacobs. That day, I also saw a muskrat swimming by me and the first cardinal.
Oh the cardinal: now there is a North American bird I love. Red :) SO it flies south for the winter?Wish it would fly east, to us !
